Since 1991 Bayside Respite Care AssociationInc. (BRCAI) has offered support services to people with disabilities and their carers in the Wynnum and Redland Bayside areas of Queensland, Australia. BRCAI offers supports in-home, centre-based (including short-term overnight accommodation), supported independent living (SIL) and via assisted community access and vacation time camps. Our premises are located at Birkdale and Capalaba.
BRCAI is headed by a voluntary Management Committee and Chief Executive Officer. We are staffed by part-time Coordinator, Admin assistance and a team of casual Support Workers, assisting 80-100 families.
All Support Workers have Senior First Aid training, Positive Notice background checks and many have/are working toward disability study certificates. Ongoing opportunities are provided to access both in-house training and external trainers in specific areas.
As an incorporated, non-profit, community organisation, BRCAI relies on funding via Government programmes, donations and fundraising to support its activities and services.
